The Arslanians

Three generations dedicated to giving back to society

The Arslanian family is historically known as one of the main diamond trading stakeholders in the world. Originally from Armenia, the family’s ancestors fled the country during the Armenian genocide. Their resilience, pioneering spirit, and ability to offer a tailor-made service to their clients led them to build a successful story. Never forgetting their roots, each generation of the family brought their contribution to society.

This family business started in 1951 when Melankton Arslanian established Arslanian Frères. Later, his brother Haig joined him, and they worked together to expand their diamond activity. As their business developed, the Arslanians brothers became major benefactors of Armenia and its diaspora. Their generous donations have supported the creation of several schools in Armenia and Lebanon. In 1986, their benevolence enabled them to finish the construction of the Djemaran school. It is still known today as “Melankton and Haig Arslanian Djemaran”.

In 1973, Melankton’s son, Raffi Arslanian, joined the company and launched its next phase of expansion. Following in his family’s footsteps, Raffi Arslanian continued his charitable actions in favor of the Armenian people. In April 2018, thanks to the noble donation of Mr. and Mrs. Raffi and Anelga Arslanian, a modern nursery named "Hamazakayin's Raffi and Anelga Arslanian Nursery" was opened.

Today, the new generation of the Arslanian family, Raffi’s 3 sons (Garen, Nareg & Sahag), manage the Arslanian Group. Their mission is to bring the family’s business to the next level as a responsible international business group. Meanwhile, they pursue their family’s social commitments. In 2020, the Arslanian Foundation was established to support various causes for Armenian families whether in Armenia or abroad. Amongst other initiatives, the Arslanian Foundation works with Hamazkayin’s Raffi & Anelga Arslanian Nursery since 2022. Their collaboration is born from the conviction that each child deserves the best possible start in life and support to his/her full potential. The Foundation’s donations help families in need to send their children to the nursery. The donations consist of scholarships for up to 100 children enrolling in the nursery and an accompanying food plan.
